On June 4-6, 2024, the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs’ Cultural Property Advisory Committee will be meeting virtually to review four matters:
1) a request for import restrictions from the Government of Ukraine
2) a proposed extension of the U.S. cultural property agreement with the Government of Ecuador
3) a proposed extension of the U.S. cultural property agreement with the Government of the Kingdom of Jordan

4) to review the effectiveness of all cultural property agreements and import restrictions currently in force

In advance of the meeting, USCBS President, Patty Gerstenblith, has submitted comments concerning the situation in Ukraine. Her letter to the Cultural Property Advisory Committee can be found here: USCBS Comments on Ukraine Request.
